No sooner has one case been solved than Gitte stumbles into her next "murder investigation". And now it gets personal... At least her detective Ole is slowly learning how to deal with his Little Miss Marple. The holiday and feel-good feeling are also very important in the fourth volume.

This fourth part is the first book in this series for me. With lovable protagonists and no gory details, it is a gripping summer crime story that makes you want to go to Denmark.

"Danish greed"
This summer was supposed to be quiet and comfortable for Gitte. Finally enjoying her new home. But this time her work has other plans for her. Gitte is an undertaker and when she sees a woman lying on her table, she becomes suspicious. So she informs the inspector. And indeed, the woman has been murdered. Unfortunately, Gitte's father is soon suspected! So Gitte has no choice but to investigate herself! This was my first book by Frida Gronover and I landed in Marielyst right away. The author has such a beautiful writing style, I could easily imagine the area and the people.
Gitte is so likeable and the atmosphere of the place is palpable everywhere. The crime story is based on friendship and a holiday atmosphere with an exciting case. Now I naturally want to read more about Gitte and Marielyst!

Hygge crime novel from Denmark
Rated: Book (Paperback) "Danish greed"
'Danish Greed' is the third case for Marielyst's local undertaker Gitte Madsen, who has chosen to live in Denmark. Once again she stumbles upon a corpse and once again she can't keep her hands off the police investigation. A solid crime thriller with exciting twists and turns and Danish hygge. It is a little similar to the murderous investigations from the well-known TV series 'Friesland'. Here the village police also receive support from the 'forensic city pharmacist' Mrs Scherzinger and the undertaker Mr Habedank. Unconventional, quirky and humorous characters alternate with humorous episodes in a tricky case.
Longing for Denmark
Rated: Book (Paperback) "Danish guilt"
I wish I were in Denmark, with Gitte Madsen and the other lovable characters in this book. Of course there is a murderer again. And a search for the murderer in which you can guess, but in which false leads are also laid. There is no shortage of humor, the holiday feeling is guaranteed, you don't want to put the book down or even better - drive straight to Marielyst! The second volume of the Gitte Madsen series is also absolutely worth reading!

"Danish guilt"
Gitte is once again right there when someone dies. And she finds herself - contrary to her inspector's instructions - in the middle of a murder investigation. It's also great that the author doesn't just write about 'Zack, here's the murder and Zack, that's the culprit', but also picks up on the plot from the first part and paves the way for the next volumes. So, it's still great weekend reading.

An exciting crime novel that is also a hyggelig feel-good novel :-) How did the body of the young Greek man end up on Gitte Madsen's doorstep? In addition to her work as an undertaker, she tries to solve the murder... Charming crime novel with a holiday feeling :-)

A hyggelig crime novel, which isn't really possible in the literal sense. But on the one hand a real crime novel, and on the other hand a book about the popular travel destination Denmark with lovely people, great landscapes and the hyggelig lifestyle. To make you feel good.
